Brian and I (with our friend Joe) went last Friday to see "Underworld." I really enjoyed this story about the epic battle between the vampires and the werewolves (lycans). In this world, vampires own a huge corporation that makes cloned blood which makes them independent on human blood. This allows them to be able to concentrate on creating a vampire society which controls the "underworld". In the story, the werewolves are their sworn enemy. In the past 600 years, the vampires have gained the upper hand by slaying the leader of the werewolves.

This movie is not your typical seduce-and-bite movie as it deals more with a larger theme of immortals versus immortals (or according to one article I read, a sort of a "race war"). I enjoyed it thoroughly and will probably go see the planned prequel and sequel.
